An Act to make provision with regard to the competency of Swazi Chiefs to enter into contracts.

1. Short title

This Act may be cited as the Contracts by Swazi Chiefs Act, 1924.

2. Contracts to be approved

No contract entered into, or obligation undertaken by any Swazi Chief (whether with or without the consent of his advisers according to Swazi law and custom), shall be valid in so far as it affects the Swazi nation or portion thereof, unless the approval of the Ngwenyama thereto has been given in writing.

3. Responsibility for chief’s obligations

The Swazi nation or a portion thereof shall not be held responsible for the personal obligations of any chief.
