Nxumalo and Others v King (38 of 2023) [2023] SZHC 178 (5 July 2023)

The applicants have launched an application in which they seek to be admitted to bail on such terms and conditions as the court may determine. Applicants were part of a group of community members which converged at a sports ground at Matsanjeni area. The affidavit of SANDILE H. NXUMALO reveals that there were about 500 people at the meeting. The purpose of the meeting was to find a solution to a problem which had engulfed the community. This was the problem of a gang of hooligans who were terrorising the community through a string of robberies, house breakings and theft as well as grievous assaults upon the members of the community.
